Executing a partnership shotgunOne shareholder was interested in buying out another shareholder in a 10 year business but did have the experience to implement the shotgun. EPi provided introductions to a new outside accounting and legal team, developed the shot gun plan and implemented the financing plan to fund the shotgun. The result – the remaining shareholder took over the business with little or no disruption to the customer base, the business flourished. EPi provides ongoing strategic and financial oversight for this client. Determining the ownership strategy for a family owned enterpriseThe client was concerned about the value of his share of the family owned business after the passing of the patriarch and wanted to ensure that he maximized his portion of the enterprise value of the company. EPI assisted by performing an in depth due diligence review of both the family holding company as well as the family operating company and helped the client refine his ownership objectives and negotiate the best possible outcome. The result – the client exited the family business with an improved share of the enterprise value. Developing a long-term strategic planThe client was having difficulty building sales in their business beyond a specific threshold and wanted to develop sustainable business growth with a view to a possible exit during the next 10 years. EPi assisted by performing a detailed financial analysis of the previous 3 years and then assisted the client in developing a strategic plan and annual budgeting/operating strategy. The result – the client has exceeded their expectations in terms of revenue growth and enterprise value creation. EPi continues to provide strategic advice for this client. |
Developing a long-term strategic planThe client was interested in building a sustainable long term plan to allow the building of the business, with the view to a business exit within a 5 year time frame. EPi assisted with the development and implementation of the plan. The result – the client has already substantively increased the enterprise value of the company by implementing the strategic plan and has had a number of acquirers express interest in purchasing the business. Financial ReorganizationThe client had built his business to a significant level over a short period of time and realized that he needed to develop a broad strategy to prepare the company for its next growth stage. EPi worked with the CEO to optimize the company’s business strategy and reorganize the existing corporate structure to enhance the ability of the company to attract new financing. EPi assisted in raising both conventional and subordinated debt to allow the company to implement its growth plans. The result – financial reorganization allowed to company to continue with its aggressive growth trajectory. |
